Passport and ID forms ask for a physical print size, a background, and a face position. Those rules change by country and by the form. This tool crops to a size you choose and reports the pixel size at the DPI you set. It does not check face position, and it does not claim the file will be accepted.
GOV.UK asks for a printed photograph that is 45 mm high and 35 mm wide. Passport Seva asks for a 4.5 cm by 3.5 cm colour photograph when a pasted photo is required, and most adult visits to a Passport Seva Kendra capture the photo on site. travel.state.gov asks for a United States passport photograph printed at 2 by 2 inches, which is 51 mm by 51 mm. That square size is not the Indian pasted-photo size. Use Custom when the form prints a different size. At 300 DPI, 35 mm is 413 pixels and 45 mm
is 531 pixels.
Drag the crop so the head and shoulders sit where the form asks. White is a common backdrop, but some forms ask for another color. Read the form. A browser crop cannot replace a studio photograph when the form requires one.
1. Read the width, height, and background on the form.
2. Choose that preset, or enter the millimetres yourself.
3. Move the crop and pick a background color.
4. Download and confirm the pixel size shown next to the file.
